A strong emphasis is placed on a quality curriculum that emphasizes problem-solving, critical thinking, responsibility, work ethic, and citizenship to enable each student to thrive and survive in society.

In the spring of 1997, the Board of Twin Cedars Youth Services, Inc. initiated a capital funds drive to renovate the gym annex of the East Depot High / Boys Junior High. The Ault Academy — named in honour of longtime esteemed local educator Ethyl Ault — became a state-of-the-art educational facility including five classrooms, a vocational area, a media center, a testing and conference room, an individual instruction area, and administrative offices.
The $2.5 million capital campaign also included a multi-service building in Columbus on the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home campus. The goal was exceeded, and Ault Academy was dedicated on September 30, 1999. Then-President of LaGrange College Dr. Stuart Gulley delivered the keynote address, and Charles Hudson, Jr. served as Master of Ceremonies. Over 500 people attended the dedication ceremony and tour.

The Academy is accredited by Cognia as an “educational agency with special purpose,” as well as fully approved through the Georgia Department of Education. These achievements allow students at Twin Cedars Ault Academy to receive high school diplomas and to qualify for STAR Student awards.
