PINK OUT for Breast Cancer Awareness Football Game
On October 11th, students at Bradfield Center- Ault Academy participated in a PINK OUT football game.
Organized and coached by Mr. LaSwann (Hudson Cottage) and Coach Jones, the boys were placed into two teams. To really push for team spirit, the boys sported the colors of two local high school teams (Callaway/red & Lagrange/ blue) and pink for breast cancer awareness. A pep rally was held in the gym for the boys and all of their supporters. The blue team named themselves the Cowboy (Dallas) and the read team named themselves the Bulldogs (Georgia).
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 41,000 women and 460 men in the US die each year from breast cancer. During the pep rally, everyone was asked if they knew a friend or a loved one who had been impacted by breast cancer. Not a single hand, adult nor child was left down. With the support of cottage staff, the finance department, human resources, Ault Academy, and some parents, the boys had the opportunity to show off their athletic ability and bring attention to the impact that breast cancer has on all of us.
The game was won by the Bulldogs. Although this was one day for the game, the boys' will continue to exercise their awareness. Feel free to view the pictures of the pep rally and game below. Continue to visit AultAcademy.com to see what the boys do next.
